Mac OS: How to Have Different Network Settings in Different Networks

For example, to use fixed IP in one wireless network and DHCP in another.

You have to use the concept of "Locations".

Locations can be configured in System Preferences --> Network.

Users can easily choose between then from the Apple menu.

However, Mac OS does not attempt to auto-select location based on what network you are currently able to connect to.
